To a more original form of the root (āp is perhaps ā+ ap) doubtless belong also: ápas V. apás V.B. . ápnas, apna- RV.-apta ( ?án-) RV. BR. regard apás at RV.iii.6.7 as a verb form from this simpler root.
āpnoti v (āpnute), PPP āptá (q.v.) obtain, reach, overtake, meet with, find; acquire, win, get, beget; pervade, occupy; befall, betide. P. become filled. Caus. āpayati cause to reach or attain, bring to, let a person (A) have or feel a thing (A). Des ī́psati, te (q.v.)
abhi reach to, attain; Caus. accomplish.
ava reach, get at, meet, acquire, obtain, incur. samava the same.
pari reach, acquire, make up, finish.
pra reach, arrive at, come upon (A); obtain, win, get, catch, incur; befall, betide, exist, be; result or follow from a rule (also P.). Caus. cause to arrive at, bring to (2A or D of pers. & A of th.); announce, bring before the court (j.), obtain, get. anupra reach, attain, meet, follow, imitate; come, arrive. samanupra reach, attain, arrive. saṃpra reach, arrive at, come upon, obtain, win, catch. anusaṃpra = samanupra.
vi pervade, occupy, reach up to (ā).
