Meanings

badhnā́ti badhnīté v (bandhati), PPP baddhá (q.v.) bind, tie, attach, fix, fasten put on (mostly Ā); bind (a victim for the gods), i.e. sacrifice; bind together, join, construct, compose; effect, produce, perform, make, get, show, manifest, betray; obstruct, stop, close, dam up (~ setunā); catch, take or keep prisoner; direct, turn (the eyes or mind) upon (L or Inf). Caus. bandhayati cause to be bound, caught, constructed, dammed up, etc.
